Ontario Traveller Posted August 29, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 29, 2008 A girlfriend is going on the Crown Princess with a couple of her friends - their first cruise. She was planning to wear capri pants and a blouse for dinner in the Dining Room on non-formal nights. Despite all my Princess cruising, I can't remember if this would seem too casual for the evening meal. What do you think? Do you remember seeing capri pants at dinner? swom Posted August 29, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 29, 2008 I'm taking a pair of capris to wear on my 7 day cruise. I will probably wear them a couple of times with different tops. They are fine to wear on non-formal nights. With the price of luggage on airplanes now, I will be wearing a couple of pants/tops several times. Tell her Capris are fine in the dining room. Whimsy Posted August 29, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 29, 2008 I have always worn capris on some of the non formal nights and never felt out of place.
grandmato4 Posted August 29, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 29, 2008 Capri's are fine for the dining room on Princess. I wore them several times on our Alaska cruise last year. Hope they have a great cruise:)
Momma Mojito Posted August 29, 2008 #5 Share Posted August 29, 2008 I see nothing wrong with them, In fact I wore them last year with dressier tops.
rdsqrl Posted August 29, 2008 #6 Share Posted August 29, 2008 They're absolutely fine. Although if they're denim or those baggy cargo pant type, she might feel a tad underdressed, but even those wouldn't get her turned away.
Katiekakes Posted August 29, 2008 #7 Share Posted August 29, 2008 I just bought a new pair of dressier black capris and plan to wear them with nice tops on our next cruise. I am trying to take less on this next trip with the airline's new regulations.
Ontario Traveller Posted August 29, 2008 Author #8 Share Posted August 29, 2008 Thanks everybody. I've been recalibrated. I'll pass on the good news. (They are very very excited about going on their first cruise.)
cezovski Posted August 29, 2008 #9 Share Posted August 29, 2008 Capris are fine. On non-formal nights, just about anything goes (even jeans are fine). The only dress code they have posted outside the dining room is "no shorts, tank tops or baseball caps."
cruisealot54 Posted August 29, 2008 #10 Share Posted August 29, 2008 Capris are fine. On non-formal nights, just about anything goes (even jeans are fine). The only dress code they have posted outside the dining room is "no shorts, tank tops or baseball caps." Yet, we have seen where they really dont enforce the "no baseball caps" rule. We have seen several people over the last few years wear baseball caps to dinner and nothing is done.
Solara Posted August 29, 2008 #11 Share Posted August 29, 2008 As long as they are dressy capris with a dressy top you will be fine!
