I took the assignment you gave me seriously and can report that while aboard Maasdam, I verified that "A" Deck no longer has a Self-Service Laundry. In the space it once occupied, there is now a cabin..... said cabin, I believe, is used by crew such as an Entertainer.

FYI and as also asked..........

 

Charlottetown shops will close for the season at the end of October per the shopkeepers we asked. (We asked in about 5 different stores).

 

However, they officially list 'season' as June 1 to September 30.

Thank you for checking the hours. I think that was for me since we are the last cruise of the season.

I am also interested to hear about the laundry room because that deck was the most convenient for me to use. :( Oh well.....

 

Question: So when is the next big drydock (when they will add more cabins and move the pool) scheduled for?

Another press release on the HAL web site says the Maasdam will will done in late 2010. The last of the 5 ships to receive the major remodel.

I reported a few months ago that the laundy rooms on severals ships were already gone.

 

Some have been turned into storage areas -- others into A cabin.

 

This is on the R and S class ships.

Wow...my name in lights....and to think I just about missed it. There's my five minutes of fame:D :D .

 

Good to know that my excellent cabin steward wasn't wrong on my last cruise. Thanks Sail for the effort on checking on this. I appreciate it:) !
