I'm on a wait list for a balcony on the Crown sailing Oct. 12. I'm number 25, they say. In your experience what is the chance of our getting a balcony? We have an inside right now. If it's probably a lost cause, I'd just as soon accept it now.

You are about 6 weeks from sailing and well past final payment. I'd say you have two chances - slim and none, and Slim just left to pick strawberries.

I would advise you to check several times a day to see if a balcony cabin becomes available rather than wait for Princess to contact you. They do not have a good track record when it comes to contacting people on waitlists. If you find one yourself, call your TA (or Princess if you booked directly) right away. This is how I managed to snag the minisuite I was waitlisted for a couple of years ago, and I was #1 on the waitlist.

I think I would probably look at this as a very slim possiblity. Final payment has been made some time ago and if you are still 25 on the waitlist, the chances are slim.

So, I would just tell myself I will be in an inside stateroom on this sailing. If by some chance you clear the waitlist, GREAT, but I would not mentally set myself to believing this will happen.

I am also waitlisted for our upcoming cruise on the Sapphire, Sept. 27th. We are 6th on the list. Do you think we have a chance in getting a balcony?
