suite guest lunch only for cruises over 7 days?

I have seen various posts on the suite guest lunch, and most of them report that there is, in fact, a lunch for suite guests on 7 day cruises. Yet, the HAL website states: "A special Suite guest lunch event on cruises over 7 days in length". Is this perhaps a recent change? We enjoyed this lunch years ago on the Westerdam, and have now booked a 7 day again. Any 7 day recent cruisers have experience with this? Thanks.

It really depends on the HM and Captain and itinerary.

We have had them recently on 7 day cruises on some ships.

On some ships it was a buffet held either in the Crow's Nest, Explorer's Lounge or the upper level of the dining room.

On other ships it was a sit down lunch in the dining room.

On our recent Westerdam cruises it is a buffet held in the Pinnacle - which was closed to all other passnegers who weren't pleased by the fact that the Pinnacle was closed on a sea day.

On most ships that had the suite lunch/buffet is was held near the end of the cruise.

On our 18 day Westerdam cruise it was held the same day as the Mariner brunch.

We have absolutely seen Suite Lunch offered on 7 day cruises. It depends upon Hotel Manager, Captain and itinerary. If it is very port intensive, there simply isn't time to fit everything in. Must have Mariner's Party and On Deck for the Cure and Disembarkation Talk etc. They can only do so much in one day.
