KroozFoolz Posted September 5, 2008 #26 Share Posted September 5, 2008 1A's are confusing, at least to me, and it seems to be to other members on the Carnival forum. TRIUMPH CLASS 1201 fwd, SB, portholes 1202 fwd, port, portholes 1205 fwd, SB, portholes 1206 fwd, port, portholes Ah, so the bunk bed is hidden, and I do get a sofa, I guess! I'm in 1202 on the opposite side next week. I'll assume the setup is exactly the same. This is great. Thanks. Well actually there is no hidden bunk lol. Yes, you have a convertible sofa bed and one twin bed, no bunk. If you look at the first post, it says what is in each cabin for each class, go to Triumph class and look at your cabin #. Nicely done, all spelled out by ship class. Well, I am confused now - It looks like a bunk bed in that picture to me.
firefly333 Posted September 5, 2008 #27 Share Posted September 5, 2008 Well, I am confused now - It looks like a bunk bed in that picture to me. It looks like a bunk to me too, if so then the key in the first post is incorrect, my bad for assuming it was correct. The sofa looks like a regular sofa, not a convertible sofa, or maybe I just didnt know what the key meant in the first post meant by sofa. Im sorry. :(

I am not sure what you mean by "key" in the first post - I don't see the bed configuration listed in the first post - I thought OP would add that as people posted about that particular cabin - I think "SB" means starboard side of the ship if that is what you thought indicated sofa bed. Hey, it's all good as we share what we know with each other.:)

Leo Jay Posted September 5, 2008 #30 Share Posted September 5, 2008 I don't mind being wrong, but it does irk me when people use "lols" and unnecessarily patronizing tones to try to make others appear the idiot. KroozNut Posted September 5, 2008 #31 Share Posted September 5, 2008 1A's are confusing, at least to me, and it seems to be to other members on the Carnival forum. I have started different threads on the topic, and still have questions about other 1A cabins because they all seem to be unique. I thought it would be beneficial to have one thread dedicated to this topic with all the information you would want to know. I have started by listing just about all the 1A cabin's by number on the different ship classes. I, for one, am especially interested to better understand which cabins have true upper/lowers, which one have 2 twin beds that are able to push together, and which have 1 bed and 1 convertible sofa. Also, which ones have portholes or other interesting info. Pictures, if anyone has them, are a plus (with ship and room #, of course)! :D Please contribute to my list and make any changes for errors I may have made. You DO get a sofa and also get a bunk as well. The bunk SHOULD have been hiddden, but the upper bunk was left open for the pictures, but it does fold up and out of the way. Just one single bed, a sofa, a fold-up bunk and two porthole windows. Same exact bathroom as the other cabins. I would get this cabin ANY time if it were available. Quiet, spacious for one or two people.

Well, the bed doesn't move for what ever reason, or else it was quite hard to move and seemed permanent. Also, the sofa was shorter than the upper bunk, so to lay on it, your legs will rest on the arm rest and hang over the edge. The bed was not too small for a few nights. Here's another question I have for any of you. All of the ones I didn't specify the bed configuration, I assume are traditional upper/lowers. If any of you are knowledgable, go through the list and see if I have missed any. I'm especially wondering about 7345 and 8357 on the conquest class, since I believe the room underneath them (6393) has two twin beds. Are all the 1A's on fantasy class upper/lowers? They look VERY small!! Thanks for all your help!

Looks like I got told off for the "lol" in my post :( so after misreading the first post which I admitted was my fault I probably shouldnt post. But, I was thinking the same thing as you, it would cost $11.99 to see the individual pics of each cabin, not sure if its worth it. Thinking about it like you. As far as I know all the 1As on Fantasy class are upper and lowers. I only had a 5A, but I did see a 1A, a guy's estranged wife booked him into a 1A with a handicapped son and put him on a upper bunk and this was a old guy. That was my introduction to 1A cabins. I wouldnt be on Ecstasy again until next January to try and look around. From everything Iv read and heard they are only uppers and lowers. itsme_jj Posted December 11, 2008 #43 Share Posted December 11, 2008 Hello all, very interesting thread. As with everything, things change. So my advice is when you book, ask your travel agent for the most current information concerning your 1A cabin. Carnival is in the process of recategorizing many of their ships, so what was once a 1A may now be a 4A, 6A, 6B, etc. You get my drift. Basically right now the spirit class 1A's available are mostly two twins. However the older ships have some cabins with bunks. So instead of trying to keep up with all the changes, just ask. I'm sorry for all your hard work is going to be upset by the reclassification process. The categories are now based on location and amenities. So for example the least expensive staterooms are in lowest decks/aft/forwards. While mid-ship locations are higher. Take a look:

grneyedmustang Posted December 11, 2008 #49 Share Posted December 11, 2008 For those wondering about the Sofabed in 1A cabins, it's not like a "couch" sofabed that has that uncomfortable bar you have to sleep around. It's a regular Carnival style twin bed with two sofa pillows. Very comfy, standard length, and great for sleeping. :) My friend and I stayed in 2216 on the Carnival Victory (Triumph class). It was roomy enough for two people and the porthole was nice.
