I came across another group of vintage cruise brochures and menus from the SS United States. I've loaded some on Photo Bucket.

How about "fruits in wine Jell-O" *LOL* And the kids today think they invented Jell-O shots *LOL*

 

God knows what a Clara Barton salad is, but wasn't she the woman who founded the Red Cross ? :)

We see her often when we go over the bridge. Several years ago a friend who has a boat took me right next to her, it made me so sad. She is the last remaining all US ocean liner.

So nice to see her inher glory days.

Thanks for posting that! I did New York-Bremerhaven-New York on "The Big U" when I was a kid in 1960-61 and seeing that brought back some great memories.

and he received a wonderful framed cardboard picture of the ship as a thank you after it made the record trans Atlantic crossing. Must have been the light weight of the chairs that made the difference. We had that picture in our basement until my mom moved to Maryland. Today it would bring a good price on ebay.
