Suggested cruise lines and ships?

We are planning on taking a cruise next March. We are a family of four with two daughters 16 and 13.

 

We like the looks of the Royal Caribbean. But I wonder if it would be fun for the adults also. Any concerns or suggestions of other cruise lines for a family of four.

 

We would like to travel with families of the same age groups?

 

Your help and advise would be greatly appreciated for these first time cruisers

We've done several cruise lines. Both Carnival and Royal Caribbean have great programs for teens, while also having lots for parents. Both lines larger ships have plenty of activities for teens with pools, mini-golf, basketball courts, arcades. Royal Caribbean's larger ships have more for teens if they like physical activities with the rock walls, ice skating and some with surf simulators, but our daughter liked the parties more on Carnvial.

I am sure that Royal Caribbean would be nice. I would offer another option; Princess Cruises. They will have somewhat less children then Royal Caribbean but the adults might like it more.

 

I would pass on Carnival.

My boys ages 16 and 14 really enjoy Carnival. I have cruised on RC also but actually think my sons enjoyed Carnival more.

I would recommend RCI Freedom class ships. We cruise with a large extended family (from 11 mo to 79 years) -- and we are all entertained on RCI. RCI is very family oriented.
