I can see by the prices that Thanksgiving must be a busy tme on the cruise. But what about the week after? I was thinking of taking my dd out of school that week but wasn't sure how busy it is (I am assuming not) esp. how many kids

The price will drop since it is not all that busy. The kids will be back in school to finish the semester and the parents will be getting ready for the holidays. We have cruised the first of December before in the Caribbean and it has been really nice. Very few kids on board. It was mostly older people and couples who were childless (young and old) as well as those who had someone to take care of the kids back home (grandparents maybe).

We cruised the Saturday after Thanksgiving and the ship was not crowded at all. We really didn't see that many kids and we never had to wait in line.

The prices were pretty low compared to other weeks around holidays.

Hopefully your daughter won't mind not having a whole bunch of kids on board. Even though there weren't a lot of kids she should still be able to meet some kids and make some new friends.

Ships generally sail at near full capacity, so the level of "busyness" is about the same. More of a concern is price. When demand is higher, so are prices. When kids are out of school, and people off from work (such as thanksgiving), prices are higher.

You won't find less people on the ship...but you may find fewer kids aboard when they are in school.
