sweston85 Posted September 12, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2008 Hi.. Okay 1) I notice AoS leaves San Juan at 9:30PM... but what time can you start getting on the ship? J/W because there's two flights we could take to San Juan and one gets there at 1030AM, the other 530PM... so, just wondering which would be the best. :) 2) Does the casino on AoS have a poker table... with an actual dealer? J/W because on Carnival the poker table had a computer "dealer". Thanks!
smw0621 Posted September 12, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 12, 2008 I just read someone's post that said you should be on the ship by 4pm. They said the muster drill was approx 6pm and the ship left at 9pm. Hope this helps!
Sgt. Jeff Posted September 12, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 12, 2008 I just got off of AOS last week. The ship left the port at 8:15.....And the poker tables do have live dealers!! As far as getting on the ship, take the early flight!! We were at the port at 11am and they started boarding about 11:40 am...
cb at sea Posted September 12, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 12, 2008 Get the earliest flight you can--a day prior, if possible! You don't want to get there too late. Think about it--you've PAID for day 1 and boarding day is it! Use that ship for the entire day, or you've effectively shortened your cruise! There are live dealers. travelgirl64 Posted September 13, 2008 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2008 Take the early flight. I just got off AOS last week. All aboard was at 5:30pm, the muster drill was at 6pm, and it left somewhere around 8-8:30pm. I would actually recommend getting to San Juan the day before--with all the delays in flights nowdays. As far as the casino....I never went in there, so don't have any advice on that.

They usually start boarding as soon as the previous passengers have cleared customs and immigration. We've always been able to board around 11:30 or so. I highly suggest that you plan on flying into San Juan a day ahead of time. It will save you the worry in case your flight is late, delayed or cancelled. Nothing is worse than having the ship leave without you.
