Looking for a hotel post-cruise. Would like on the beach but also easy to get to from the port and easy to get to airport. Suggestions?

Why does it have to be near the port if you are post cruise? That is a crappy area.

 

South Beach would be the closest but it looks like your dates will be over New Years Eve so it will be expensive.

 

What is your budget?

 

My second pick would be Key Biscayne.

First time in Miami, so I have no idea of the areas involved. We just booked Hyatt Summerfield by the airport (wanted a 2 BR suite), so really now just need to know how to get from the port to the hotel. Any suggestions on a service?

Just cab it from the port. There will be tons of cabs waiting. Fast and super easy. It's about 26$ to the airport but don't know what it is for the hotel you are at.
