Is Elevator Important in Choosing Cruise?

One cruise option we're considering for Thanksgiving is on the Gate 1 Symphony, which does not have an elevator. I realize there aren't many decks (3 or 4), but what about the distance between each deck? We've been on large cruise ships and I'm OK with 1..or maybe 2..flights of stairs. The river ships look so flat, though, that I'm thinking (hoping!) maybe there aren't all that many stairs between decks. We are in our 60's. No real infirmities...just kinda slow. Trying to decide if lack of elevator is a major concern, or just a slight inconvenience. Thanks for your views.

I have some problems with knees and legs, but never found the average riverboat stairs a problem. However, I had a lot of difficulty on the cruise on the Yangtze river.....5 decks and no elevator. Knees became painful enough for me to seek out acupuncture on the ship.
