Amsterdam airport tranfer to Rotterdam cuise port.

i am considering a cruise sailing out of Rotterdam. Most flights come into Amsterdam. Any idea how easy it is to get to the port in Rotterdam?

I think that this has been discussed in the Baltics ports of call forum. I remember seeing it when I was researching our cruise in 2007. Amsterdam'Rotterdam is also covered in the British Isles/Western Europe ports of call forum as well.

We took train from Amsterdam to Rotterdam last year. The train ride was a little bit more than an hour. There were many trains in a day. I don't remember the exact price, but it was around 12-15 euros or so per person.

 

From Rotterdam train station, we hired a taxi to the port. It was a short ride. Again, I don't remember the price, but it was around 20 euros per taxi.

The train between Amsterdam and Rotterdam is a snap. On one of our visits to Holland, we were staying in Rotterdam (that is where we disembarked) and took the train to Rotterdam one of the days we stayed post cruise and the train back that evening. It was perfect. Easy as could be.

 

Catch a taxi from the train station to the ship. Rotterdam is a huge port.

We had to do the same thing this past July.

Because we had so much luggage and did not want to have to deal with it on the train (even though it is very convenient at Schipol), we opted for a van shuttle service. There is a room at the opposite end of the terminal from where you come out of the luggage/customs area, containing a couple of companies who provide land shuttle service directly to either your hotel or cruise terminal. They operate regular runs to Rotterdam.
