What to do in Miami?

My wife and I are arriving into Miami on 2/13/09 2 6:30 PM and sailing out on the Norwegian Dawn for the Eastern Carribean on 2/14/09 disembarking at 4:00 PM in the afternoon. We were wanting to see some of Miami since we have never been there before. Can anyone tell us what is a must see? We will be staying in the Coral Gables area for that one night. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Lucky you! You'll be in Miami during the International Boat Show! I would head to the marina in South Beach and check out the mega yachts!

Coral Gables is a fabulous place and you are within great walking distance to the Miracle Mile which is wonderful shopping and dining.

One of my favorite places in Coral Gables is Vizcaya. Did you ever see the movie "Any Given Sunday"? It is the waterfront mansion where they had the D.A.R.E. fundraiser.

February usually brings great dry weather to South Florida. Temperatures are usually in the high 70's during day time, maybe even the low 80's, and dry - not much humidity at all. Wonderful time to walk around, Miracle Mile in Coral Gables is a great area to walk around and have lunch or dinner at an outside cafe on the Mile.

I'd second visiting Vizcaya if you've never been before - its absolutely stunning.

You could also head over to the Biltmore Hotel and have what I'm sure is a pricey breakfast or coffee and walk around the hotel & grounds. Its another beautiful spot in that general area.

Thanks for the info...after looking at it on the web, I think it would be a very nice place to see.
