Hi Radio, Great to sail along with you again. Just want to offer a small correction though..........It's the INTREPID that will be returning to her home at Pier 86.

Can you tell me about those big blue chairs next to the pool. Is there anything special going on with them? Thanks.

Ouch. . . Thanks signman ! :o

Sometimes the fingers are faster than the mind. . . .

Nothing special with the chairs. . .there are alot of them though. . .

Radio: Love your pics! We were on the 9/14 sailing. I hope you don't mind that I am copying some of your pics so that we can show the kids. We left our camera onboard in our stateroom and they wouldn't let us back on to get it. Your pics are better than mine anyway!!!:D

Hello everyone. . . We are currently about 100nm from San Juan. We are steady at about 20knts.

The Captain suggested yesterday that we should arrive at the pier by 315PM. The forecast for today is hot and sunny (86° f), with no rain. . .

We have decide to walk around and do some shopping, while in San Juan. I have talked to many passengers who have signed up for the Walking Tour, Bay Kayak Tour, Bacardi Distillery Tour and the Horseback Riding.

I am sure we might find our way to the Sheraton in Old San Juan, the Polo Outlet, Starbucks, and Diamonds International. (We must get our Free bracelet !)

We had a great time last night at Nick and Nora’s. . . the food was very good. I had the Surf and Turf, and Mrs. Radio had the Filet Mignon.

I tried to take a few pics, but the lighting was very dim. I will try to take my other camera (better low light pics) up there another night this week.

They had live music, (very good) and several couples were on the dance floor. All of the wait staff were very young (early 20’s) and tried to provide detailed service, and spent a lot of time explaining the menu items.

We heard some of the wait staff offer descriptions that seemed to be identical (almost scripted). I will say though, that the choices were very good, and seemed to be very fresh.

The presentations seemed like artwork ! I talked to passengers that had multiple dinner reservations there, and some that thought it was so so .

I would recommend Nick and Nora’s for a great dinner. . .

Tonight there will be a Mexican Deck Party under the stars at 11:15PM.

There should be lots of music, food, and late night deck games will start at 11:45. . .

We will set sail at midnight for St Thomas, USVI and the Casino will reopen at 12:30AM. . .

Here are a few pics from yesterday. . . .

Thanks for tuning in !

Radio, thanks for all the calm water photos, I'm not as scared now? I am still nervous to walk around at night, all that blackness out there, with no city lights, I suppose the ship it's self is lit up.. But I do have a pressing question, someone posted before that their are two starbucks on board is this true, are you a coffee drinker? If they are just gourmet coffee shops, is the coffee good..and what time does it open..

Love the photos..was the lobster bigger in Nick and Noras than for the Captains dinner?

Radio, you sure are getting some great weather! We should have waited a week and sailed with you! You are in for another treat; the Intrepid is back in NY. She will be at the pier when you get back next week. :D Enjoy your 1/2 sea day and SJ! Looking forward to seeing your pictures since we had to skip that port.

Ahhhh! A picture of the "Marsh mellow Seats"!!! That is what we named the white seats!!! lol!! Thanks so much for the awesome pics!!!

Starbucks - No starbucks on the ship. There are specialty coffee places. One on the 2nd deck and the other next to the pizza on the Lido. Couldn't tell you how the coffee is.

Trock I'm so glad you posted I was getting a little worried about the movement, I'm going to be in cabin 6262 aft.. I think just down from the one you were in, I think I could look at the colour of the water all day long, thanks for the reassurance...I am bringing ginger, gravol etc. just in case but I was told by others that unless the ocean is rough, you won't feel any extra motion, I'm sure though that if the ocean is rough your gonna feel it somewhat all over the ship...and maybe a little more for aft and bow and higher decks..but not a drastic difference true?

DH and I will be in this cabin next Feb. Take care of it for us, pleaseeee.:)

Radio, super great pictures.... Thanks..

I have been low/high mid/ aft and I found no difference.. I actually found this aft location much more relaxing and very quiet!! My favorite of all cruises

I agree. We've had 3 AFT staterooms, 2 with wraparound Balconies. With rougher waters, it lulls u to sleep. Fortunately no really rough weather. AS previously noted we will be on this cruise on 6/17/09; AFT wraparound on deck 8. Can't wait. Radio, thanx so far for the great pix. Keep up with the pix and commentary. Great Job.

for your interesting posts and pics. It helps us all to experience your cruise vicariously.

Would you please explain your computer/gps set up? Any trouble getting signals? Recommendations for others?

Thanks again!!!

I connect my GPS to my laptop, and I have the mapping software there. I just copy the image, and post it to CC.

The Internet connection is pretty fast (as Cruise Ships go). I am connecting on the ship at about 120kbps. . . It is not Broadband...but it works good for me. I usually post about 100 pics to Cruise Critic on each trip.

The package I signed up for is $100 for 270 minutes (.40/min)

Hello everyone. We arrived in San Juan at about 230PM.

The ship was cleared by 3PM.

It was sort of like a cattle call when the ship was cleared, so we waited a bit to get off of the ship.

We walked around a bit, and I can tell you that it felt like it was in the 90’s today. It was very hot, and sunny.

I love to walk around Old San Juan. There are a lot of old stores, with a lot of shopping to do.

We decided not to visit the forts today. . .We just need to get in some air conditioning. . .

We went to the Casino (Inside the Sheraton) for awhile. . . We used to be able to get free internet (wi-fi) in there , but now it requires a password, and is just for hotel guests.

We went to 2 of the Carnival recommended stores, but both were closed… ;-(

There are a few shops in the Terminal (upstairs), which we will stop in as we head back.

We stopped off at Starbucks for a bit, and enjoyed some great coffee (Mrs Radio enjoyed a Frappaccino). The internet here is very fast and very free !

We are the only ship in Port today, but the streets of Old San Juan are packed. . . It is a Friday night though !

We are going to get a bite to eat, but here are a couple pics of our arrival into San Juan. . .

More pics tomorrow from St Thomas ! !

Thanks for tuning in !
