Is this a good upgrade?

IMHO it's a great cabin and location. On our first Carnival cruise we booked a guarantee for the Valor and had a similar placement. It's just a few steps to the pool deck and not in a high traffic area so there is little if any hallway noise.

The only downside may be some motion. Forware and high up you may feel the movement of the ship. For us it's a pleasure to be rocked to sleep at night:p

We were on the Glory for a family cruise in December. The parents all had balconies on deck six. The kids all got GTY rooms to be assigned. They ended up on the pannorama deck and it was a great location.

Lido has nice short hallways and limited amount of people. The people that are there, live there. And another good thing is in the morning you don't have to catch an elevator to get coffee or breakfast. Just walk outside across the pool deck and your there. Enjoy your cruise and your new location.
