Wiinblad Posted October 12, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2008 Hi to all: We are taking a Baltics and Scandinavian cruise and wondered if any of the ports (of course with the exception on St. Petersburg) offer "easy" shuttlebus transportation from the cruise docks to a central area ie: in Copenhagen, Warnamunde, Stockholm, Talinn and Amsterdam? We would like to explore the citysights ourselves and just wondered about the ease of transfers from dock to city. Thanks so much for any help. At Warnemunde the ships docks about 5 minutes walk to the town center. Loved this town, can't wait to go back 7/2010. In Tallinn we took the shuttle bus into town and it was $10. r/t per person. Some people said it was an easy walk, but we wanted to ride in. Can't help you with Copenhagen as we walked into town, got lost and found the US Embassy where we got good directions and a nice english guide book. In Amsterdam we took a private boat tour which picked up us at the dock and dropped us off near the Anne Frank House and we walked back to the port. Ine Posted October 13, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 13, 2008 The cruiseterminal in Amsterdam has a tramconnection (25 and 26) to city-centre. Walking will take about 20 minutes, depending where you want to go.
Rare RachelG Posted October 13, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2008 With Regent (all-inclusive), shuttle bus was provided with no extra charge in Tallinn and Helsinki. The cruise started in Copenhagen and ended in Stockholm so no shuttles there on this particular cruise, but Regent usually provided shuttle buses without extra charge in any place where they are needed.
