The Westerdam is on it's way to Florida, It is scheduled to sail on Sunday 10/19.

Does anyone know when it will get into Ft. Lauderdale, and where it will sail before the 19th. I think it get's into Ft. Lauderdale before the 19th.

If anyone knows, I would appreciate your reply.

Thanks

Joe.

According to cruisett.com, Westerdam arrives in Fort Lauderdale on 10/16 at 7:00 am and departs on 10/19 at 5 pm. I'd be curious to know what she does in port for all that time??
cruisett.com will often (maybe usually?) show a ship in one place for several days when it is a charter. For example, look at the Eurodam for OCT 18 to 25, which I know is a charter.

Thanks for your replies.

I really appreciate it.

I knew it was arriving before the 19th and I can't see them letting the ship sit there empty for 3 day's. Empty ship makes no $$$$. And I know Ft. Lauderdale is not a "dry dock" and I have not read of any problems with the ship that needs to be repaired.

I agree, it is most likely a charter or a 3 day cruise to nowhere like the Eurodam is doing.

I thought that is what they called those cruises.

No, a "cruise to nowhere" doesn't go to any ports, but just sails in a big "circle" - like the Labor Day cruise of the Eurodam out of NYC.

You hear the term a lot more when referring to the gambling day-cruises that just go offshore far enough to open their casino, because major cruise lines rarely do them. :)

The Westerdam is chartered by the Sysco Corp. for 3 days.

That's correct. The site uses published schedules which would not include charters....

Tracking charters for 143 ships  would be way too much for a free site.

Unless someone has a list they could send to the feedback address on there ?

Def. Sysco charter and it was open bar--we disembarked on 10/16 and the bartenders were all gearing up for 3 days of a very heavy workload;) (Sysco is one of HAL's vendors, so I'm sure they got a great deal on the charter--what do you think?)
