how far in advance do you have to book with Nativeway for Stingray City?

Recommended Posts

I have a cruise that stops in Grand Cayman coming up in the middle of July. At what point should I contact Nativeway and make a reservation with them for the morning trip out to Stingray City?

Thanks in advance!

I booked them five months out, but I have also seen people who have booked 2 weeks before going.

We really enjoyed them, and would highly recommend them.

I booked with them this week. We sail on May 23rd. If this is who you have chosen, I would think it is not too early to book. I’ve only heard good things about them. They gave me a reservation number, and said I could pay when we board the tour boat. Good luck and enjoy your cruise.

If you're sailing during peak periods, the earlier the better! Off periods, you might be able to make a later reservation and get by with it. But I didn't want to take a chance. I have a Sept cruise and I've already booked my excursion with Nativeway.

We have our November tour booked already. It is a private charter though, which they only do two of per day, so if you want a private one, then do it early. They require no down payment.

When we went on the Granduer in January we book Nativeway in Nov. We booked for 2 couples. No problems with the booking they said we would pay when we boarded. When we docked in the Caymans we when to the Gazabo where they told us to meet the guide, so we went the and waited and waited. They were running late. When we were picked up we found out that we were the only 2 couples that were going on the trip. So it was like we had a boat chartered just for us. The captain and first mate were just great. They stopped and the first mate dove for fresh conch to feed the stingrays. Then they stopped at a coral reef and let us snorkel for a while, be sure to take a underwater camera. Then it was back on the boat to go to Stingray City. When we got there, there were so many boats it was hard finding a parking space also the seas were really choppy that day which made it sort of hard backing the boat in. But we finally got into a spot. We got off the boat to play with the Rays. My husband said they were really neat. We got some really good pics. Then it was back to the boat and back to the ship. They dropped us off in town we had lunch and did some shopping and then back to the boat. I would recommend Nativeway highly. Hope you have a great time.

Thanks everyone! We just called Native Way and booked for the morning tour on May 28th being that we're on the May 21 Voyager sailing. Being 3 people, we didn't have to leave a deposit, pay on the boat. Four or more requires a deposit. This board really pays off for money saving info. I'm sure this $30 tour would cost a lot more for the ship's excursion. And, if for some reason, we weren't able to tender or make the port, we would lose nothing. Win situation no matter what and with all your positive reviews, we can't go wrong. THANKS!

WOW! Did I almost make a big BOO BOO. I rechecked the itinerary and realized that we're going to Grand Bahama on May 28th and Grand Cayman on May 26th. I called back and changed it. According to our itinerary, we're do to arrive there at 8:00 AM. Nativeway said that the ship will be in by about 7:00 AM their time, 6:00 AM ships time. I mention that because the tour is at 8:30 AM, their time. She said there's a zero chance that we'd miss it and advised against taking the afternoon tour because it might come back too late.
