Zoolander Posted October 24, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 24, 2008 Will be in Victoria on May 27-29, 2009. We will be staying at the Delta Victoria Ocean Point. Here is what I have assembled as a list for lunches and dinners, any recommendations or suggestions? Lunch: Ferris Oyster Bar (if we like our meal on day 1, we will go back on day 2, the menu is just so different than what we can find at home) Dinner: 1. Cafe-Brio; guess this would be our splurge meal. Looking at the wine pairing meal. Anybody here done that? Thoughts? 2. Lecole; has received great reviews. If anybody has a thought or two on these three restaurants please let me know. Are we missing something that shouldn't be missed? My wife said that she is not interested in afternoon tea. Thanks. shadowfax Posted October 24, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 24, 2008 All three are good, I have eaten at all of them. I highly recommend Brasserie L'Ecole but you must make reservations. It's a hot spot in Victoria and gets booked up well in advance.
scottbee Posted October 25, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 25, 2008 Zambri's on Yates Street would be my vote. As for lunch, I would recommend Pagaliacci's. Pag's is too crowded to be nice for dinner, but the bottomless soup and bread for lunch is a winner every time. As for Ferris' for lunch, it's OK, some people love it, but I've always found it just average (but then I don't like sweet potatoes and it's the sweet potato fries everyone raves about)
Zoolander Posted October 26, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted October 26, 2008 ScottBee, you have really helped us out on this trip. Appreciate it. Unfortunately, I am a big Oyster guy, and though I love Italian and pasta, it isn't the best food for my constitution (highly gluten sensitive). Thanks again. If you're looking for a fun place for lunch or dinner, Barb's Fish and Chips is at Fisherman's wharf, is a quick trip on the harbour ferry . It's a humble outdoor, sit at benches kinda place, but damn it's good eats.
Zoolander Posted October 27, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted October 27, 2008 SB, Either way, we may do that ferry anyway, as we are staying at the Delta. Thanks.
