CheshireKat Posted October 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2008 Can someone who has just returned from a Western Caribbean trip on the Mariner tell me what timezone the ship was in during the entire cruise? Did the ship turn its clock back to Central time for the ports of Haiti, Jamaica, Caymans and Cozumel? Or did the ship stay on Eastern time (which is the timezone in Port Canaveral) the entire cruise? We are planning some excursions (not through the ship) and want to make sure we plan accordingly. We will be sailing in December 2008. Thanks in advance!
viper88 Posted October 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 28, 2008 The ship stayed on the eastern time zone the entire trip. It did cause problems with non-ship booked excursions. Our friends were an hour early for their trip. It was not a big deal and they finished in plenty of time to make it back to the ship.

We were planning a scuba trip in Cozumel and the agent said it "should" be back at 5:00 pm, which means it would be 6:00 pm ship time. That only gives us 30 minutes to make the ship, hoping the dive boat makes it back on time. I'm wondering if that would be enough time to get from Scuba Club Cozumel to the ship? cb at sea Posted October 28, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 28, 2008 If you book through a reputable guide, then THEY will know all about the times and will get you back to the ship. This is their JOB!!!! If they let folks miss the ship, they'd be out of business! Just always make sure that YOU are on ship's time--no matter what time it is anywhere else!
