laidbackin LA Posted October 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2008 Were they charging for the ice cream bar on Sapphire Princess last week? I didn't go there (fool!) so I am not aware. If it is true, then I say that Princess can go to the bad place.
paul929207 Posted October 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 28, 2008 Yes, they charge for ice cream at Scoops. Ice cream is free in the dining room as desert for lunch and dinner and in Horizon Court each afternoon from 3:30 to 4:30. If you didn't go to get any ice cream at Scoops, why do you care if they charge?
BalconyBumz Posted October 28, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 28, 2008 From 3:30 - 4:30 in Horizon, it's only chocolate and vanilla. I think Scoops is a total scam.

I think Scoops is a total scam. hmmm....I have seen other flavours at the HC, and I also thought the prices at Scroops were quite reasonable if one wanted more ice cream then was available free at lunch, dinner, and in the HC late afternoon. Each to his/her own, but "scam" is a bit much, particularly when you have the choice to use it or not
laidbackin LA Posted October 28, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted October 28, 2008 Sounds like some people are willing to have free things taken away one by one. I guess you won't mind when they start charging to see the shows in the Princess Theater. After all, if you don't want to pay, just skip it. Great line of reasoning. No one is taking free ice cream away. It is available in the Horizon Ct. for an hour or so daily as well as at dinner each night in the dining rooms. Going to Scoops is no different than going to Baskin Robbins at home. Royal Caribbean has Ben and Jerry's on some of their ships and they charge extra for the fancy ice cream as well. If you want free ice cream, there are ways to get it on Princess.

That idea might help with some of the crowding I hear people complain about. They could also do away with the CD position, I don't need to be entertained while on vacation. chasetf Posted October 28, 2008 #9 Share Posted October 28, 2008 I think Scoops is a total scam. So... by what definition do you feel it is a scam   Just because you don't choose to pay the cost doesn't mean those that choose to are not getting their fair value. ;)

Cruisin' Chick Posted October 28, 2008 #11 Share Posted October 28, 2008 On our Hawaiian cruise, there were some unusual flavors offered in the Horizon Court in the afternoon. There were also many, many different flavors in the dining room at dinner. I'm a big ice cream eater, but didn't eat it at all on the cruise as there were so many other delicious desserts. I was on Holland America, full selection of hard ice cream all day and night. Carnival is the one with the machines. I think after 18 cruises now, I know which line has what. :)

What sights do you get on your balcony at night:confused: You may need to research the word "selfish" You are perfectly free to enjoy the shows and whatever else. That is one of the reasons there are different venues. And if it is any of your business, I usually spend most evenings in the casino.:p Mike:)
