pandy719 Posted November 5, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 5, 2008 Hello all, We are first time cruisers. A family of four with husband, wife, daughter 17 and son 15. We would like to know if anyone has suggestions on what to do in the Mexican Riviera ports of calls? With the teenagers, they are very active and would like to do something fun and exciting. Also, should we book it with the ship or independently? Any information would be helpful. Thank you
cb at sea Posted November 5, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 5, 2008 First., get a good guidebook (libraries are free, but bookstores have them, too!) and find out what there is in each port! The book will tell you how hard or easy getting to those places are, how much it costs, safety updates....Then you can decide if you even NEED an excursion, or if it's doable on your own. Let your kids read it, too (gives 'em a reason to read!!!) and they can tell you what interests them!

It is a great ride on the beach and ends with cold beer and HUGE shrimp... on the cheap!!! We wish we had done a Zip line in PV. Everyone says thouse are really fun. Cabo was such a short stop... but lots of shops and eateries! There are so many experts on these boards. You'll get plenty of good advice. Good luck! Toyz711 Posted November 6, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 6, 2008 make sure you go over to the port-of-call boards. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=203 usually some great experts willing to share their knowledge of the ports. they can tell you which tour to take through the ship and which to take from local vendors.
