dancing dragon Posted November 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2008 I am thinking of doing a B2B cruise but want to know Do you have to get off the ship when it returns to port? in other words do you have to disembark then process in again and embark?? Oh almost forgot to ask how do you keep your room. or if you don't what do you do with your luggage while you do the disenbark/embark process? shrimp0 Posted November 6, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 6, 2008 When you book a B2B and you want to stay in the same cabin... you have to book it that way from the start. If you then do have the same cabin for both cruises then turn around day is a very simple process. You will be given directions and your new sea pass cards sometime towards the end of the first trip. It just depends on the ship, port and crew if you have to actually step off the ship at some point that morning or if you can reprocess on the ship. either way it is very easy. If you are in different cabins, the only difference is that you will have to have your things moved to the new cabin that morning. The cabin attendents help you do this... and again they will come to give you directions before the first trip has ended. B2B's are wonderful and the crew will do everything they can to make it smooth and easy for you... and all you have to do is enjoy!!!!!!

Pumbaamd Posted November 6, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 6, 2008 We are just back from our Enchantment B2B (but they called it Consecutive Cruises, not B2B). The Guest Relations Manager, Rosa Torres, met with us the night before the change over and explained, in detail, the entire process. Her assistant, Shawn Jones, escorted us off, thru immigration (just showed our passport), and we were right back on. We were the last guests off the first leg, and the first guests to board the second leg. It was a very simple process, thanks to Rosa and Shawn, and other staff members, including Hotel Director Michael Rasmussen. We had to move one cabin over for the second leg. No worries. Our excellent cabin attendant, Mr. Clement, took care of it. This was our first CC, and we had a great time, thanks to all the above. Enjoy your B2B, err, uh, we mean, Consecutice Cruise! DJSteve552003 Posted November 7, 2008 #5 Share Posted November 7, 2008 I just did a B2B in Sept. on Majesty. As others have said, if you have the same cabin, it is a simple process. We were instructed to meet in the library and were escorted off the ship back to customs for a quick check-in. Then we were escorted right back on the ship. The fire doors are closed to the cabins, but you can just push them open. Some cabin stewards give you a wierd look, but they can't say anything. I found it was a perfect time to use the gym and to get the best spot by the pool! ;)

I'm hoping to get off for a portion of my changeover day in Barcelona. Martha
shrimp0 Posted November 7, 2008 #7 Share Posted November 7, 2008 You can get off at any time in the morning. If there is something you want to do that day.... then go and do. However, you will not be able to reboard until they have started the actual boarding for new cruisers. (you will be given a document to use for reboarding if you choose to get off early and go to do things). If you are planning to just hang around the ship through the new boarding time then you will meet with the crew sometime around 10-11 ( or when all the passengers from your first sailing have disembarked). You will be one of the last to clear the ship and then escorted back on the ship once the numbers have all zeroed out and the ship is cleared for boarding. Does that make sense? dancing dragon Posted November 7, 2008 Author #8 Share Posted November 7, 2008 Thanks to every body for the info... now on to the research I'll feel special being escorted off and back on... that alone might be worth it.. oh we can't use CC for Consecutive Cruises because we use it for Cruise Critic like.... the CC people are the best and have all the info....:D
Pumbaamd Posted November 7, 2008 #9 Share Posted November 7, 2008 You can always use a double CC, as in "We read on CC about the people on their CC."
Saintsfan007 Posted November 7, 2008 #10 Share Posted November 7, 2008 This is great information. We are considering a B2B also, but with different cabins. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to take my luggage off the ship, and bring it back on. Thanks for the help!! :)

schnocker Posted November 7, 2008 #12 Share Posted November 7, 2008 OK...suppose I buy a bottle of good scotch on the front end of a b2b and RCI stores it. When the first leg ends, is that scotch still retained or is there a chance it could be returned to me so I might enjoy it on the back end ? Any chance of this glitch coming to pass ? It will be returned to you after you have finished the last part of your Continuous Cruise (aka b2b).
Rare cruiselvr04 Posted November 8, 2008 #14 Share Posted November 8, 2008 The best thing about our back to back was getting back on and going to the empty pool and getting to pick any chair we wanted to!! No chair hogs!!! We had about an hour to ourselves - no bar but lots of peace and quiet. The other great thing is not having to pack that last night like everyone else. We are planning another one (a five and four day) for the fall of 2009. Since we have to fly in it's nice to go on two. We will also be Diamond after the next back to back. WoooHooo!!! shrimp0 Posted November 8, 2008 #15 Share Posted November 8, 2008 not only do you get first dibs on a good pool chair...but you dont have to even think about your luggage and when it will be delivered to your stateroom.... more time to enjoy a full day on the ship!!!!! (but not packing on the last night of the first part was pretty cool.... as was going to breakfast on the last morning of the first part and hearing everyone say that they wished they could stay on board again... and you with a huge grin say I AM!!!!!!!!!!!!) English_in_Spain Posted November 8, 2008 #16 Share Posted November 8, 2008 I think it depends on the port. We did a B2B last week in Barcelona (different cabins). We did not have to leave the ship. The 2 cabin stewards arranged the moving of our things. They took hanging items without having to pack them. All other items we put in our cases and they moved these for us. The move to the new cabin was around 9am. We were then given a new Sea Pass card. As stated previously, the doors to the cabin areas were closed but we were able to get to our cabin by pushing them open. It was explained to us that if we chose to leave the ship we would not be able to return until other passengers were also able to re-board. We just stayed on (we were the only 2 passengers) and enjoyed watching the crew get ready for the new intake. We got some good photos of parts of the ship and it was interesting to see the closing and opening of the fire doors on Royal Promenade - not many people see this. One thing to bear in mind is that the computer system closes down for a couple of hours to close the accounts from one cruise and to open the accounts for the new cruise. This means during this time you cannot buy any drinks at the bars onboard. Non-charging places like Cafe Promenade were still open for coffee etc.
