FunPass vs. Skipper's Club

Skippers Club for all of your check in needs. I will say this though. Depending on what port you are sailing out of, it may be quicker to go through the Fun Pass line. In Miami, they will check you in the Skippers Club and then make you wait with everyone else for boarding. At Pt. Canaveral, they have it down to a "T". They check you in and escort you to the front of the line to board.

I just got off the Inspiration in Tampa, and the lines were long just to get in the building (Everyone had to go through), in the building a long line led upstairs to security and check-in. After the metal detectors they hearded everyone into the funpass line. There was a Skippers Club Check-In, with no line, however there was only one lady with a laptop at a folding table who registered the few Skipper Club Guest.

Does anyone know the answer to this....

We are cruising as a group of 12 in January on the Victory. Four of the group are booked into a suite and therefore qualify for the Skipper's Club...I think. The other eight of us are in balcony cabins right next door. Can we all go through the Skipper Club rather than split up or will they only allow the 4 people in the suite through.

Thanks
Todd

It may be different in the home ports. I think Miami they may only allow the people that are booked in the suites early checkin.

I know my parents were only allowed to go.. and the heck with us.

Hi ParrotHeadFL - We were on Sensation out of Tampa about a month ago. We already had our funpasses filled out and went to the area they called the Skippers Club. As long as there is no line, it was nice to sit down and get checked in. We were in the first boarding group called. I think it only saves time if there is not a long line for Skippers club because there were only two people checking you in there. The regular line had 15 or 20 people checking in. We never saw more than 2 or 3 people waiting at the Skippers Club.

Linda... I have inquired on this previously... and can only hope the reports are WRONG....

evidently it is a cluster**** there... we shall see soon!

Carnival, after writing to them about my concerns, indicated that (after giving them several examples of problems reported by others) Skippers Club is offered there, and the examples I gave are not the norm...

Things may have changed but I sailed on the Legends first cruise out of FLL back in November of 02 and it was a nightmare. The whole boarding process was a nightmare. First of all I asked where the Skippers Club was located and I got the "deer in the headlights" look with each person that I asked. They did not have it and no one knew what it was. Then once you were checked in they placed everyone in a large room to wait to board. Once boarding started they just dropped the ropes and it was every person for themselves to get on the ship. No organization at all. Again, this was the first ever cruise out of that port for the Legend and hopefully things are better now.

Both times we went on the Inspiration out of Tampa we had Skipper Club,up grade fairy. Loved it! We got to sit and check in. Yes, the line thru security were long. But the lines for regular check in went on forever. The second time the ship was late getting in so we had to wait to board. Hunders of people wanting to baord at once. We got to get on first:)
How is it at Ft Lauderdale??? We're leaving on the 12/21 Legend and qualify for the Skippers Club...

Thanks!
Linda
I just returned from the 10/26 Legend sailing out of Ft Lauderdale. We had Skippers Club VIP Check-in. The fun pass line was very long, Skipper's Club check-in took exactly five minutes. We had our fun pass print out but it wasn't needed since the information is in the computer once you've completed it online. The only advantage of having Skipper's Club in FLL was that the line was much shorter and you had a seat while you waited to board the ship. But don't be fooled, quite a few people had Skipper's Club Check-in.
