cherylandtk Posted November 9, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 9, 2008 Not so much which side, but look for what is above, below and next door to your cabin. Other cabins are best, white spaces can be good or bad, depending. Bad if it is a kitchen area or early morning buffet, usually fine if it is equipment or laundry or elevators. Discos and bars are noisy in the late night if you are an early to bed type. Gyms are noisy if you like to sleep late, not much of a problem if you get up before 7 when they open. Rooms directly under the Lido pool areas tend to be a noiser than those under the Horizon court. Lower down and center feels less side to side motion. Forward rooms tend to feel up and down motion, aft rooms tend to notice engine vibrations more. LBNL, Caribe deck balconies are twice the size of other deck's balconies, and are larger than the minisuite balconies. If you can book one of those, go for it. Since Princess does not give a price break for, or have the category "Balcony GTY", you are better off to pick your cabin. Please note that ALL bookings are subject to upgrade unless you specifically mark your booking No Upgrade. If you have carefully chosen your location, you may want that. If you think any balcony is just fine, then leave it as elegible to be upgraded.
vplsh Posted November 11, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 11, 2008 Definitely book a Caribe deck balcony on Golden if you can. The balcony is twice the size and has a covered and uncovered section. We sailed on Golden in March of last year and she's beautiful!
