LLBgal Posted November 5, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 5, 2004 Hi All, I recently read something (it was fairly dated material) that indicated that those with a late dinner seating go to shows BEFORE dinner... can anyone confirm this? Thanks in advance for the info!
Rare Lois R Posted November 5, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 5, 2004 Hi:) I think it depends on the specific show......I believe they are both...some of the shows are before dinner for the late seaters and some are really late. (Lets say its "Adult Comedy") well, that would be starting at the 11hour. Just giving you an example. I was on HAL in Sept...that is the one area I was VERY IMPRESSED with....the entertainment was fabulous......anyway, I eat late and they had shows after dinner as well as before. catmand Posted November 5, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 5, 2004 Just to add a little to Lois' response. For some shows the ONLY time they will be presented for the late dinner crowd is at 6-6:15 so many of the things you will/can go late but a few like EARLY. I can't tell by your post how you feel about this. I will go out on a limb here. If you aren't wild about the idea of dressing for dinner early and going to see a show before dinner, it isn't the greatest set-up but it isn't horrible. I didn't think much of this at all before our cruise, actually still don't but with traditional seating you just gotta work with it............:D :D
gkm Posted November 5, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 5, 2004 The shows are one reason we eat early. It's nice to have a show after dinner (and have time to let your food settle). There's usually some special function after the show to go to (like dancing, team trivia, etc) that doesn't start until 10:30 pm, so it makes a nice ending to the day. Often it's off to the casinos too! We don't mind dressing early for dinner, though there have been a couple of times where we've had to hurry because of an excursion running late, but generally we plan our excursions so that they won't interfer with dinnertime. We don't want anything to interfer with dinnertime!!:D Garry
Hilary Posted November 5, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 5, 2004 We don't mind the occassional show before dinner. We simply get dressed earlier and have a before dinner cocktail while enjoying the show before eating. Then after dinner we can stroll around the ship, hit the casino, or just enjoy the band on deck for awhile. It breaks up the routine of dinner then a show for us.
