megnsamsgracie Posted November 14, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2008 There is less than 4 weeks until sailing. Have a suite GTY booked, have JS. Can I do a paid upgrade at the pier? There are TONS of suites open (GS, OS, RFS). So if they are still open, what is the cost to go from suite to suite?

If there are really that many open you will probably get one - that's the great part about a GTY suite. Enjoy :) You should get a call about two weeks prior to sailing. Alexis Posted November 14, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2008 This list was posted by Sue L on Feb. 16, 2008. It was originally put on here by CC Radio. These prices are for a 7 night cruise. They may have changed since this came out? Thank to Radio who posted this a while back. The prices below are per cabin. . . NOT per person. . . RCI Upgrades From INSIDE to Royal Suite - $1500 Suite - $1000 Balcony - $600 Outside - $300 Inside - $100 From OUTSIDE to Royal Suite - $1200 Suite - $700 Balcony - $300 Outside - $100 From BALCONY to Royal Suite - $1000 Suite - $400 Balcony - $100 From SUITE to Royal Suite - $800 Suite - $400 those are the prices from the Pier Coordinator ONLY. (RCI Revenue Dept (Miami)). If you board the ship and upgrade at the Guest Relation desks (On Board SHIP revenue Dept.) . . . the price you would pay is usually MUCH Higher. Here is a reminder. . . You must check in fully at the check in desk, and when they hand you your Sea Pass card. . .then it is OK to go to the Pier Coordinator to inquire about an upgrade. Another posting by CC Radio. The regular Check In Counters at the Pier are for the Ships' Network(ex: Liberty of the Seas). The Pier Coordinator will have a list of how many and what type of Cabins that were unbooked prior to the Sail date. The pier coordinator is UNABLE to check in your Set Sail Pass. You must check in FIRST. . .then you can ask to speak to the Pier Coordinator. The No-Shows (Customers who are booked, but never show up at the pier)are handle differently. . . Those Upgrades may be purchased from the Guest Services Desk (Pursers Desk) However. . . those usually are at a much higher cost than the Pier Coordinator. While the Ship is at the Pier. . .It belongs to Miami, and when the ship leaves the dock any upgrade would be a part of the Ship's Onboard Revenue. megnsamsgracie Posted November 14, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted November 14, 2008 Thanks! There are 2 RFS, at least 4 OS, and 5 GS... If no upgrades, thats okay. I am willing to shell out $400 for an upgrade! Been selling my butt off on ebay to have a special trip with my daughter!
phaeton Posted November 14, 2008 #5 Share Posted November 14, 2008 It would be worth paying the upgrade if it was 400 to go to a suite. I hope that option presents itself when we get to the pier.

Alexis Posted November 14, 2008 #7 Share Posted November 14, 2008 Hi Alexis, Great information:) So, after I check in just ask to speak with the pier coordinator? Do the prices change according to cruise or ship? Or they pretty much standard across the board. If these prices are still the correct ones, they are standard for all the ships sailing now. I believe if they were not the latest, someone would have corrected me by now. "Hi" to Bob.

jkg227 Posted December 4, 2008 #14 Share Posted December 4, 2008 Is the price to upgrade per person or per cabin???? And why would they charge you $100 to change from Balcony to Balcony? That doesn't seem like an upgrade.... unless it's a higher category balcony (ie better location)....

Like E2 to a D1 within a balcony category.

Hombre59 Posted December 5, 2008 #20 Share Posted December 5, 2008 can anyone do this on any sailing on any ship? or is it selective and random (like opening the dividers on balconies on certain ships)?
buckanear Posted December 5, 2008 #21 Share Posted December 5, 2008 Anyone can upgrade on any ship. It's a first come/first serve kind of thing. The prices vary by ship/cruise length.

English Rose Posted December 5, 2008 #23 Share Posted December 5, 2008 You need to 'click' on the cabin type you are interested in. It may seem as though you aren't supposed to as the 'little hand' doesn't appear, but it does work. It then takes you to a sub category of the cabin and you need to click on that. Then the deck plans with the cabins available will appear. Have fun!!
rubrrick Posted December 5, 2008 #24 Share Posted December 5, 2008 Also.......cabins disappear about a day before cruising, as they are turned over to the ship. Kathy............there is an excellent chance that you will get what you want when you get to the pier. Good luck and have a wonderful cruise!! kkardin Posted December 5, 2008 #25 Share Posted December 5, 2008 I'm leaving for a cruise in January and was curious about this same thing. I just want to make sure that I understand everything. I need to get to the pier and then go and check-in, which I assume is where I get my SeaPass card, and then ask to speak to the pier coordinator. Now, is the coordinator in the same building/area, or do I need to leave the building to find him/her. I will be traveling with wife and 3 kids, so want to make sure I have the logistics down.
