MikeyB Posted November 20, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2008 Hi... I'm not asking about sneaking liquor into the casino! I had read that NCL will now serve free drinks for players in the casino. Is that still true? We will be on the Star and Sky. Thanks. Mikey

Mikey last cruise I was on was in Aug and you had to pay for drinks in the Casino unless you booked thru CAS NCL casino Dept then you got a free drink card. terrymtex01 Posted November 20, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 20, 2008 Mikey.. What you may have heard or read about was an experiement that NCL tried back in April/May/June where for three months they offered free drinks to anyone in the casino who was using their players club card while gambleing. This experiement was a dismal failure for the casinos because too many people were getting a players club card, sitting down at a slot machine, putting in $1.00 and playing one quarter until a server came by and served them a drink. Then they would cash out their $.75 and wait until they were ready for their next drink and then repeat the process. As with anything in life I guess, too many people took advantage of it rather than use the program as it was intended for. So, they had to cancel that promo. BarBug Posted November 20, 2008 #5 Share Posted November 20, 2008 I paid for all of my drinks and then, when cashing out my points on the last evening, was told they would all be comped, due to my amount of play. Wish I had known that beforehand, I would of drank more.....

Wish I had known that beforehand, I would of drank more..... That was great for you! However, I don't think that people should count on that as it sounds like something that is up to the discretion of the casino manager. Another ship, another manager, could be different outcome. The only way to be assured of getting free drinks in the casino is to book through CAS. CG
