Voyager Class ships - Are sodas still free in the dining room?

Recommended Posts

No free soda in the dining room on any RCI ship, if you purchase soda (fountain) you can get free refills during your meal. If you purchase the soda card, you can use it in the dining room.

RCCL was one of the last major cruise lines to start charging for soda in the dining room. I believe it was in 1999 or 2000.

My understanding is that sodas were free in the dining room on all royal caribbean ships until when I don't know. However, we were on the Explorer in Sept. 2001 and soda was free
then (in the dining room, glasses, not cans).

So the answer is yes, it used to be free, and no it is not any longer.

Soda used to be free in the dining room at dinner time only on all RCCL ships up until about 2 years ago. It was free as long as it was soda that could be dispensed from the tap at the bar. If you wanted something in a can it was not free.

I was on Explorer the first week they started charging for soda in the Dining Room (or so they said). It was April of 2002.

We just returned from Rhapsody. We bought the soda cards for the 2 kids and myself. We found it difficult at best to get soda. We finally gave up and just went with milk or iced tea for dinner. Maybe it was just our waiter...

Many have complained about getting service on the drink card in DR. You get those small glasses full of ice and two swigs of Coke. Is it worth it?
I believe Disney is the last of the free Coke
at dinner cruises but then trust me in the price they charge up front you have paid for your 12 pack before you get there.
