bell st. terminal

I need help I am cruising out of bell st terminal in Seattle,WA but when I return I have all day to explore am I better off renting a car and sight-seeing on my own or am I close to any attractions that I can just walk? Is there bus transportaion from the pier to any attractractions? Do they have one of those hop-on-hop-off busses? Any ideas would be great.

You can easily walk down to Pike Street Market and the Pier and could spend the whole day just down there. To walk up to town, it's straight up a very large hill and quite a walk.

Bell street is very convenient to much Seattle has to offer. Seattle Center, where the Space Needle is, is about 5 blocks away, you are just a couple blocks from Pike Place Market (Famous for fish throwing...), You can walk or take a cab to the downtown area, unless you want to leave the city there really is no reason to rent a car. There is bag storage at the Bell St. Pier. Then just walk down a block or two, cross the st to the elevator, and walk the block, turn right then you are at the Pike Market.

 

But, I frequently do rent a car and do outside of Seattle stuff. IF Boeing is of interest, consider the tour- book ahead, then drive Whibey Island for some scenery, stop at the fort?

 

Or do the Museum of Flight, again if of interest? With a rental car, you just then drive to Seatac. Cabs from downtown are about $35. Thrifty has an office nearby and a shuttle from Bell St.

Thanks for your advise, do you know if there is a shuttle or bus from the bell st terminal to the sea-tac terminal and if so do you know the price. Again thanks for your help

over the 2 days we were in Seattle we really enjoyed everything we did...saw the Aquarium, Space Needle, Duck Tour, Pikes Market and walked around town...all were great!

If s/he is flying out the same day, Boeing and Whidbey are pretty much out of the question. But, as you and others have said, plenty of things to do within walking or bus distance.
