Carnival in Seattle 2010

Haven't seen any announcements on this yet, but apparently Carnival has secured a berth in Seattle starting in 2010!

 

I hope this means Carnival is bringing a second ship to do Alaska trips out of Seattle and not that the Spirit is moving from Vancouver. If it is a second ship, it might mean repositioning trips from the East Coast to Seattle and back through the Panama Canal. I'm on the Pride's Panama Canal cruise in March when she moves to the East Coast and it has been a very popular cruise.

 

Carnival has never done Panama Canal transit cruises before because the Spirit was already on the West Coast, but the Canal transit cruises are pretty popular on other lines, so maybe Carnival figures this is the time to start doing them.

 

Anyone heard anything about it?

This may just be Carnival Corporation securing new berths for Princess and Holland America. It doesn't necessarily mean that a Carnival ship will be in port.
