Does anyone here keep water and sand from the beach?

I found a plastic bottle on the beach and put some sand and water in it, but the bottle is ugly. What would you guys/gals recommend I use to display it?

How about using a bottle from a kitchen store that has a cork stopper?

 

I love to collect shells from the different beaches I visit and I put them in clear glass bowls. In Grand Cayman a couple weeks ago, I found a great conch shell.

I would think the water eventually would look old and nasty no matter which way you display it.

True--the water will get pretty funky, pretty fast! (there's alot of live stuff in seawater!)

Take a tsp. of sand from the beach (if you must), but leave the water alone!

I carry a few empty prescription vials with blank Avery labels. If I find memorable sand, I take a teaspoon of it and write the location on the label. Someday, I'll build a coffee table with the sand and local coins (which I always remember to pick up) imbedded in resin. ;)
