Visa OBC promo

The other day I read a thread that had a link to the information and promo code for the Visa promotion that states if you used a visa card to pay for your cruise, you are entitled to an OBC. I just got off the phone with NCL twice and they are telling me they have no record that any such promotion ever existed.

Please help me find the link to the information on this promotion including the terms.

Thanks for your help.

Just got off the phone again and was told that if I would of booked possibly with someone other than NCL themselves that I might qualify for this promo. I am very frustrated and the guy was not nice at all. This is the first rude person that I have ever dealt with at NCL.

Whatever happened to the customer is always right and trying to make them happy? Just give me the OBC of $50 and move on the the next caller. Then I would not have a bad taste in my mouth.

Hey, I understand where you are coming from. And I don't know the reason why they won't just give you the obc but I can tell you from experience working in selling a product that sometimes there literally can be nothing one can do, even though you may want to. In my company, as I'm sure NCL as well, everything is tracked, assessed, evaluated, etc. Every 'discount' has a code associated with it for tracking and there are some sales that simply will not accept a discount code. There are times where because of the time period a customer bought my product, I could not offer a discount, or because they were a previous customer, etc. It gets complicated and I don't understand all of it. One could postulate that there are times when an NCL rep simply cannot offer you a credit due to the way your acct is entered into the system, when you purchased, who you purchased with, etc. The methods and reasoning for each individual company are a mystery. However, there is no excuse for rudeness. Just my two cents, then again maybe the rep was just being a tool.:D

I got a an OBC from NCL for this Promotion and I goyt it seven moths after the booking was made ? I was as surprised as the next guy that they gave it to me but I'm not asking questions.. Just call and try once more. As I said, I NEVER once called VISA or a T/A to get this OBC so they CAN do it if you get the right agent. Good Luck..:)

I think what d man was trying to say is what's bothering me. It may be only $50.00 now but they're losing future customers that way. I've been in customer service for over 25 years (recently retired, thank God). It's not really the $50.00 anymore. When I was a supervisor and a passenger had a problem, we would find a way to make them happy without giving away the store. IMO $50.00 is not a big deal to NCL but showing customer appreciation should be. Hopefully they want their customer to tell their friends and family what a good experience they had with NCL and they want their customers to come back . In my recent dealings with NCL I don't think that's the case or at least they are not instilling that mindset into their front line customer service reps. I don't think we'll be coming back to NCL after this cruise. Don't get me wrong, we're looking forward to having a wonderful vacation. Nothing will spoil that for us. We're not the grouchy complainy types and we're pretty easy to please but we'll stick with the cruise lines that have shown their appreciation for our business and don't make us jump through hoops to get a promo deal.

I really do not know much about this promotion, but...

expecting any company to just GIVE away $50 because a customer asks for it is downright BAD BUSINESS.

Otherwise, why can I not just walk up to a bar and say "Hey, I am a customer, give me a free drink!". "And give that guy a drink too, or he is going to book with Princess next time"

Why do people think companies can just hand out freebies?

What am I missing? New math?

I booked on Tuesday for the Mexican Riveria in Feb 2010, Dh finally gave in. I got the $500 for booking a suite and PCC advised me about the Visa\Amex promo so I used our visa and got another $100.

Sometimes you do get bad info from the call centers, especially on weekends. Thats why I always wait for weekdays until my PCC is back in the office

Hello just to make you aware I did book yesterday directly with NCL on the phone and I was given the visa $100 OBC $150 OBC for booking promo and a $600 MIL discount. Yes that is a total of $250 OBC. Yiippeee!!

This is for an alaska cruise booking July 2010. I know far out but wanted to plan on finances and get the Balcony of choice.

Just give them a call it was very easy for me...

I just booked last weekend through NCL and knew nothing about this promotion. The customer service rep at NCL is the one that pointed it out. I was only inquiring about any past passenger rates and the wave promotion. I spoke to Nicole at NCL and she was extremely helpful....so glad to have gotten one that was so nice, professional and helpful. If she wasn't so helpful, I wouldn't have known I could get an additional $100 OBC's. I wouldn't judge all of the reps on the behavior of one or two...NCL has some really good ones.

Anyhow, I also was able to transfer my reservation to a TA -- she also knew about this offer and I was able to transfer my entire reservation in addition to these credits (it wasn't the TA as listed above). Plus, I was able to get an even bigger discount on my base price.

If you are not subject to any cancelation fees or higher cruise prices, why don't you cancel and rebook with the OBC's that are available. I think the promotions run through the end of January, if not beyond.

I booked for 2010 last week. My TA said that NCL told her that the Visa promo has expired and it could not be combined.

Is everyone telling me that they CAN be combined - the visa promo and OBC promo?

Thanks

The Visa promo and OBC promo can be combined. I called yesterday and upgraded to a mini suite and received the OBC and the Visa promo. The visa promo does not expire until the end of Feb 09.

Thank you for your reply. This is why I get so frustrated that I book with a TA. She does discount ( and I appreciate that), but the fact that I can not talk to the cruise line myself is the part that is frustrating. I guess I will call her tomorrow morning. I like to be in control can't you tell.;)

I booked a cruise a few days ago and used my rewards deposit money from a previous cruise as the first payment. The full payment is due in September of 2009 and the PCC told me I would get an additional $100 OBC if I pay with Visa. She also said I will get $300 OBC for booking now. She sent me an itinerary that says nothing about OBC but it has the following promo codes: DMPP6, PG6, and PGWAVE. Does anyone knows how the heck it works? Should I make a partial payment with Visa? All of my charge cards are Visa. I'd really like to get that $400!! :D

I understand your frustration and I am not sure of your situation but this is one reason I always book with the cruiseline. NCL or RCCL either way I seem to be in more control. Good Luck to you... Oh by the way I did also combine both discounts so yes it is allowed.

I booked directly with NCL but my confirmation does have the following codes...and it clearly states $250 OBC

PGVO-I assume is Visa

PG6 and PGWAVE-not sure other than the current booking promotion

PGMIL-Military discount

Good Luck,

Patty
