Voyager Galveston ??

What are the dining times now that VOS is back to cruising out of Galveston? I hope not what they were last spring! I hated the main seating being at 5:30!! Also, does the priority boarding "lounge" area serve champagne as was the case last year? Last, how has the disembarcation been going?

Main dining is still at 5:30, and yes champagne is still served in the lounge. Embarkment took forever!!! We were not able to board until close to 2pm because of Coast Guard Inspection, therefore the ship did not leave to really late. Disembarkment ran about 45 minutes behind schedule and as always customs was caotic.

We were on the 12/21 sailing. Got to port around 12:15 and were on the ship at 12:45. Rooms were available at 1:00. At the end of the cruise (today) we left the ship at 9:15 and were out of the terminal at 9:45. The line for customs was long but it moved quickly.

Main seating was at 5:30 which was disappointing since we had been told 6:00.

I can't believe Voyager is still doing 5:30 for main dining! We prefer main dining but 6:00 is rushing it enough on port days, don't ya think?! 5:30 is beyond ridiculous!

I (and I'm sure many others) complained on our comments cards last year. Does any other ship do main dining so early? I'd really love to know the reason behind this.

I am just guessing the reason, but when we were on the Voyager last January we wanted early dining but got assigned late. Once on board we talked to the maitre'd and he said there were over 100 people on a waiting list in front of us and there was no way to change. The change to 5:30 AND 8:00 was, I believe, an effort to make late dining more appealing to more people. Maybe this problem will be resolved with "My Time Dining".

Our waiter said that there were too many people who wanted early dining, so they moved it from 6:00 to 5:30 and late seating from 8:30 to 8:00 to encourage more people to want the late seating.
