He will have a blast---if he doesn't, then this would be his last cruise!!! A ten yo will enjoy almost anything with other kids!

TRUE - LOL - have you had a child use their program or is this "tongue and cheek"? I am just curious - when we travelled before he had his older sisters to hang out with but now he is sadly(?) alone as they have moved on as adults.

We just returned from the Conquest last Sunday, and my daughter is eleven. There were some things that she liked, like the scavenger hunt, backpack souvenier coloring, etc. But mostly, she found friends that just wanted to roam around the ship. They would sign themselves in and out and just did a few camp carnival things.

Your child may enjoy everything or not. Just let them decided when you look at the capers.

It's been a year since we cruised with Carnival, but my dd was 10 at the time..she loves camp, no matter which ship it's on. She'll even give up pool time to stay in camp, and the last time we were in the Bahamas with no planned excursions, she chose to stay in camp even though she was the only kid there! That said, her 11 yo cousin is not a camp kid, she'd rather hang out at the pool looking for boys. @@ It all depends on the kid. It will be interesting for us on our next cruise because she'll have just turned 12, and will be in the teen group...she's not too sure she's happy about this!

Now that's funny because my son who is 10 wants to be in the 12-14 year old group - LOL - I told him that will be fine when he's 12 :^)

  • 2 months later...

I have twins, now 12, but they have always gone to the kids clubs and always have fun. My daughter is looking forward to going to check out the kids club this August and my son doesn't care one way or another. He will check it out and may do somethings and may not. They always go to the first day to participate in the meet and greet type activities and then usually hang out with friends they meet there. We have given them sign in and sign out privileges as long as they report to us where they are and that they are always with someone. Depending on the activities, my kids will pick and choose what they do. We also include them in the more adult activities like trivia or games, even though they don't help much sometimes. If there is an arcade, then my son will be there.
