GTY: what happens if prices drop?

What happens if you have booked a GTY and you have been assigned a cabin already and then the price of the GTY goes down.Let's say you booked an inside GTY and they assigned you a cat L. Now the price of cat L has gone up but the GTY has go down.

 

Do they still refund you the difference?

I believe I have read on here that you will get the price drop but will have to go back into the guarantee pool. If you are willing to gamble go for it and let us know the outcome.

Right, if you don't care about keeping the cabin, you can go back into the guarantee pool. A few people have kept their cabins, some got lower category cabins. With a L, Id probably roll the dice, its no biggie to keep or not. With a PR, most of the folks on my roll call didnt risk losing it when the guarantee price went down.
