transporatation to airport

We are flying into Miami the day before our cruise, but for our return flight we will go right from the ship to the airport. Is it necessary to book a ride beforehand or are there plenty of taxis ready to go? There will be 6 of us.

From the Port of Miami to MIA a cab is the cheapest and easiest way to go for two or more people. Cabs are waiting at the terminal and the fare runs about $24. It takes about 15 minutes on a Saturday or Sunday morning to make the trip by cab.
