marle7 Posted January 10, 2009 #127 Share Posted January 10, 2009 Just teaseing :) I think its one of those "acquired tastes" Yes I think you're right. It is a very popular dish though!
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 11, 2009 Author #128 Share Posted January 11, 2009 Yes that is the pic. I think I would like it with the raspberry vinegertte dressing. Believe me -- the Martha Vineyard salad served at the Grand Concourse looks nothing like whatever is in that bowl in the picture.
sail7seas Posted January 11, 2009 #129 Share Posted January 11, 2009 We went out to one of our favorite casual places for dinner tonight and after all the talk about caesar salad, I ordered one with dinner. :D Had a nice dinner and now we're waiting for more snow to arrive. Predicted to get anywhere from 6 to 12". Been a White Winter in New England.
Bramcruiser Posted January 11, 2009 #130 Share Posted January 11, 2009 You're Welcome. Truthfully...... there are better places to dine in Boston IMO :) Ohhhh..........do tell! We'll be in Boston for two days prior to our sailing this summer. But then again that would move the topic out of the HAL thread over to somewhere else on the board.:o David
RoofingPrincess Posted January 11, 2009 #131 Share Posted January 11, 2009 By the way, it is not CAESAR salad as in Julius CAESAR of Italy. It is instead CESAR salad as in CESAR Cardini, the man who invented the salad in his restaurant in Tijuana Mexico in the 1920s. Well, Philip, according to Wikipedia, if Mr Cardini is indeed the inventor of the salad, his name was Caesar.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cesar_salad

cruz chic Posted January 11, 2009 #133 Share Posted January 11, 2009 Predicted to get anywhere from 6 to 12". Been a White Winter in New England. It's been a brutal winter in Calgary. I don't remember seeing this much snow in Calgary since I was a kid.....and that been a few years:D.
MadManOfBethesda Posted January 11, 2009 #134 Share Posted January 11, 2009 Added that the typical HAL passenger probably has a higher percentage than the general population to be taking Coumadin/warfarin. They shouldn't be eating spinach at all. As someone who has been on Coumadin therapy for many years and will be for the remainder of my life, I can tell you that that is a 100% incorrect statement. sail7seas Posted January 11, 2009 #135 Share Posted January 11, 2009 Dose the diet don't diet the dose. I was on it for a very short time (2 1/2 months post op) but learned quickly. To say HAL should not serve spinach because a number of guests may be anti-coagulated is "silly"...... for lack of using another word.
