You are right on target. Do not nickel and dime me.

I totally agree. I will not pay extra for anything else.

In fact, it worries me that you are even taking this poll, as it might give cruise lines some ideas for more "nickel and dimeing" of the passengers

I would pay extra for a whiner free cruise- like if you whine about something you get fined and that money is spread back as a rebate to the rest of the cruisemate's!!! I get so sick of whiner's like the elevators are to slow, take the stair's people!!!!!! My GOD you are on vacation relax.

Then in tender line complaining its taking so long---dang I bet your friends scooping snow would just love to be standing here with you.

Then there are the people that sit by the pool and WHINE about the kids in the pool splashing- come on its a pool and there is water somebodys going to get wet. Yes I have kids but they are older now-

So yes I would gladly pay for a WHINE free cruise

Your fellow cruise

You forgot the obvious choice: None of the above. The poll is not valid since this is not a real option on your list.

If we are really interested in opinions, or the cruise lines will be noticing (we all know they look here), then I suggest deleting this poll and putting a valid "none of the above" choice in there.

"Other" is not really "none of the above"

None of these.

So those that can afford it get the good seats in the show and by the pool.

Why not just make different passenger classes? We could have the inside cabin class that can only eat in buffet, lounge chairs on other than the pool deck, and would be limited to the last few row and those sets for the show that are behind posts, and of course bring their own soap. Room service every third day.

The suite class would get the best seats at dinning, the show, and pool. Room service three times a day. The best food would be reserved for this class.

The rest would be in the middle class and as usual, get whatever is left over.

i wonder, would first class passengers be loaded into life boats first too, according to class of course while the others are locked below?

i seem to remember something like this in history....hmmmm

Another vote for 'none of the above'. I also wish there was no smoking in most places on board. I'd spend more money in the casino if I could breath in there. Ditto with the lounges and piano bar. There should be smoke free areas or nights of both. Or really good ventilation. (Perhaps a paid area for smokers? lol....JK)

We really enjoy the option of extra courses and desserts in the dining room, and my husband has even coined the term "triple double," meaning a meal where he's ordered 2 appetizers, 2 mains, and 2 desserts. However, as much as he enjoys this opportunity, I think he'd quickly curb the habit if a surcharge was introduced.

One thing I think I would be willing to pay extra for? Priority embarkation. The lines to embark are always a nightmare, often hot, and generally unpleasant. But we enjoy boarding in the early groups so we have a chance to find our way around the ship before it's too crowded.

I would not pay extra for anything you listed but I feel the cruise lines should RAISE the fares to include gratuities.

These people work sooo hard for very little ( if any , in some cases, wages. Less than $100 a month).

They leave their families( infants in some cases ) to go to work at sea to provide a better life at home.

Right now the cruise lines offer the option of placing gratuties on your bill but many people - especially Europeans- remove the gratuities because they feel it should be included. Right now the cruise lines have Americans subsidize the wages. Somebody has to pay it - by why not have everybody pay it ?? Including the slouches who just don't care someone is working hard for them but don't want to pay them for those services s?

...but how about having smokers pay extra for smoking only cruise!

Well, let's take this idea and run with it. How about the following pay extra?:

1. parents who allow their babies in the pool

2. obnoxious drunks

3. loud spring-breakers

4. chronic complainers

5. cheap people who remove tips from the bill

6. kids who run wild all over the ship

7. pool chair hogs

As you can see, as soon as you cut one group from the herd to punish with additional fees, it becomes a slippery slope. :D

I agree with the general sentiment expressed here. A cruise is an all-inclusive resort at sea. Royal Caribbean has become my favorite cruise line, but it does annoy me that they nickel-and-dime their passengers to death. We walked through the Johnny Rockets on our last cruise, but couldn't see paying extra. (We may try it this time, as I expect we'll get some coupons as previous cruisers.)

I voted for priority departing at specific ports, because I can see that being advantageous at times. One of our favorite ports is St. Thomas because we like to ferry to St. John. The earlier we can get off ship, the sooner we can get to St. John. Also, if I book an independent shore excursion, particularly at a tender port, I'd like the option to buy my way onto an earlier tender to avoid the stress of possibly missing my excursion. Since independent excursions are typically less costly than cruise line excursions, it would probably balance out price-wise.

Like others have remarked here, I never buy the Ben & Jerry's ice cream or eat in the fee-based restaurants. Food is included in my cruise cost; why would I pay extra by choice??

We just completed our 23rd cruise. We have cruised RCCL, Celebrity, Holland, Princess, NCL, and Renaissance. RCCL lost us forever when their dining room fare became a shared table salad, no more veal... RCCL cannot compete when they change the nature of cruising.
