terrierjohn Posted January 8, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2009 We always make sure we have enough 500ml (16oz US) drinks bottles with us to keep our own supply of iced water and iced coke in the stateroom fridge. For water we use the cabin bathroom supply and put a couple of bottles in the fridge overnight for use the next day. For our pre-dinner drinks (Bacardi & coke is our tipple) we buy large (2 litre) bottles from a supermarket while ashore and decant into the smaller bottles and put into the fridge to keep them cool. It may only be a few dollars saving but I just don't like paying the high prices for onboard bottled water and those tiny coke cans.
cb at sea Posted January 8, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2009 We've never bought water on a ship---the water is fine and free, right from the tap. True, it's not cold, but ice takes care of that!
Caribbean Sunsets Posted January 10, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2009 I appreciate that Princess allows passengers to carry on water, soda and wine. I've also had no problems bringing hard liquor on board...especially when departing from San Juan, PR. You have to almost walk through the duty free liquor store to board.:)
