We are busy loading our MP3 player with music to take with us on the cruise. We are heading to Mexico, but have chosen songs like, Don't Worry Be Happy, Red Red Wine, Margaritaville, and salsa, calypso, etc. music.

Anyone have any great song suggestions? Thanks :D

Oh, yes, yes, yes! Got a Nano for Christmas and I'm doing the same thing.

Someone on my Meet & Mingle board suggested a GREAT one. It's called "Where the Boat Leaves From" and it's my new favorite cruise son. Band is Zac Brown Band. You'll LOVE it - guaranteed!

Some more on my cruise-tunes playlist are:

  • Some Beach (Black Shelton)
  • Then What (Clay Walker - it has steel drums!)
  • Everybody Want to Go To Heaven (Kenny Chesney and the Wailers) The Wailers sang with Bob Marley, so you know it's a very Jamaican-sounding song.
  • Jimmy Buffet - LOTS of stuff. I've got Farewell Jamaica, Mexico, Margarittaville and It's Five O'Clock Somewhere, with Alan Jackson
  • Jammin' (Bob Marley and the Wailers - very Raggae)
  • I Live to Move It (Madagascar)
  • Stays in Mexico (Toby Keith)

I have about 45 minutes worth, which should get us to the airport and get us all psyched up! (As if we need any help doing that!!)

ENJOY!

Here's some of the songs I am putting in my playlist for my cruise:

  • "Vacation" The Go-Gos
  • "Holiday" Madonna
  • "Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" Rupert Holmes
  • "Soak Up the Sun" Sheryl Crow
  • "The Sweet Escape" Gwen Stefani
  • "The Tide is High" Blondie
  • "Coconut" Harry Nilsson
  • "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes from Dirty Dancing
  • "Wipeout" The Surfaris

I have those songs and a few that I associate with vacations. I also recommend songs by Shakira and maybe Selena.:)
