Are there any car rental agencies within walking distance from the port in Fort De France?

We rented a car from Budget. It was 12.00 taxi ride or a 30 minute ride. Was pretty easy getting around even not knowing any French.

If you first take the ferry to Pointe du Bout or Anse Mitan, you can rent a vehicle on that side of the bay and save yourself quite a bit of driving time. You are in a much better position to visit some of the southern beaches. La Diamant, Les Saline, La Marin.
