andreakul Posted January 14, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2009 We're thinking of flying into Rome and cruising out of Venice. What is the best way to get there? Is there an easy flight to catch or is the train better? Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks, Andreakul
keltic Posted January 14, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2009 Train goes directly from centre to centre. Plane is quicker, usually cheaper but you have to go to travel to the airport. Cheapest is Ryanair to Treviso (about an hour drive from central Venice) from Rome Ciampino, which is slightly closer to central Rome than Fiumicino. http://www.trenitalia.com http://www.ryanair.com You have also flights from Rome-Fiumicino to closer Venezia Marco Polo, but they are usally more expensive. andreakul Posted January 14, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted January 14, 2009 Thanks for this helpful info. So if I want the fastest way but not the least expensive way I want to go from Rome to Venezia Marco Polo- right? I looked on Ryan Air and couldn't find the Venezia option. Who flies there? Also, how far is Venezia Marco Polo to the Venice cruise pier? Do you know and what is the best way to get from Venezia airport to the terminal? Thanks so much for your help!!!!
