Advantage/Disadvantage booking with Regent

Okay, okay, no one wanted to answer a question about zip-lining, but what about the advantages of booking as an individual or booking with Regent.

Just spoke with the people at Alaska Canopy Adventures about booking an excursion with them. We will be on the Mariner going from Anchorage to Vancouver on the May 20th cruise. Question: We were going to book a zip-line excursion for 2pm (must meet van at 1:30 pm) and I was informed that that "could" be kind of tight with the Mariner arriving at 1pm (in case of rough seas). I guess normally the Mariner is early. I was informed I could wait 30 minutes and go with the Regent's group excursion.

With the challenges with the rssc website right now, can anybody give me any reason why I should try to go with Regent on this or just book individually like I was planning on.

Third cruise with Regent, but first time to Alaska...can't wait.

Thanks in advance.

We book individually 99 9/10% of the time due the issues with Regent excursions. However, you are cutting it tight with the zip lining excursion (IMO). Regent is not typically late to arrive at ports. . . and, if you wait in line to insure you will disembark early, there should be no problem.:o

Regent Seven Seas Cruise Line really are not noted for charging a lot more for

excursions booked through them over doing your own. We have done it both ways but will comment that the extra charge for booking a tour through Regent is like paying for a insurance policy. At least you know that if something happens on your tour and you are delayed getting back to the ship they will not leave without you. Not the case if you book your own tour. Peace of mind is worth something.
