1 nite cruise on the Gem 1/24/09

Do you carry on your luggage or do they take it and deliver it to your cabin? Last time on the one night cruise we carried it on. We reveiced luggage tags this time.

I called NCL about this since we will be staying on for the 10 night after and needed there to be porters. I was told that yes, there will be porters if you choose to give your luggage to them. I talked to a very helpful person at CAS who even spoke to a supervisor about it, so I'm assuming this is good information. Keeping my fingers crossed!

We had porters take our luggage at Dover Cruise Terminal for the Jewel. We went aboard had some lunch went down to our suite and it was promptly placed in the cabin. This was for a 12 nighter, so I do not know about a 1 nighter but I would think theyre the same?

You carry your own luggage. I was on the 1/3 1 night.

Keeping my fingers crossed too. We will be on the 1/24 1 night cruise and than the 10 night cruise and wondered about that. Because of the cold weather in NY, we have to take extra clothing and need a larger luggage. I know that when we were on the Spirit in Oct., they didn't have any porters at the Manhattan pier for the 1 night cruise and was able to manage with only the carry on. Like the Spirit, maybe the Gem will have a place to store our luggage until the rooms are ready.
