Voyager 1-11-09 cruise

So happy that the Pig and Whistle pub was non-smoking, along with the Champagne Bar! Derek in the pub provides fun entertainment. Voyager still looks very good. There was carpet replacement going on in a few areas. No "stuffy" smells of any kind. Casino was non-smoking on first formal night and it was busy. The ice show is just OK to me. I don't see rolling around the ice on hoops as taking a great deal of talent. Tho' I'm sure those who have never seen an ice show were impressed. Very disappointed in Windjammer for first night's dinner. There was little selection, only the pork and salmon(and I have not had good luck with that first night's salmon) were offered from the dining room menu, so I missed my vidalia onion tart! This was the only cruise that we did not get main seating, tho' it showed as "confirmed" on my TA's paperwork. But we had confirmation from the Maitre 'D of main seating by 3 PM next day. So it was the second night before we got to the dining room. Our wait staff was good, but some nights that they were streched thin was obvious. The steaks, particularly, the NY strip, and the filet on first formal night were reported as very good by my husband. I am disappointed that the "Golden Sea Bass" is no longer lightly crusted, but a plain, broiled piece of fish. Guess I'll get the filet next time. I still haven't found anything on the "Get Out There" menu that pleases me. We were not impressed with the service in Portofino. It was sloooow as compared to our other diners there. I eagerly await the "My Time Dining" especially on VOS as the main time of 5:30 is totally ridiculous! This is our first time for the "new" debarkation process. As we are diamond +, we usually have priority debarkation. But since we were with family members, we took the "regular" route, which involved choosing your time of departure. We asked for 8:45 to 9 AM. We were assigned "yellow 2", met as directed in Studio B, and were called to depart at exactly 8:45. We were off, thru' immigration and customs, took a taxi back to our pre-cruise hotel. loaded our vehicles and were on our way by 9:30AM. Very nicely organized.
