esbie11 Posted January 22, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2009 I know many times folks on here joke about bringing duct tape to quite your nagging wife and shut up the obnoxious children next door, but is there a real reason to bring duct tape? I am making a packing list and not sure if I should really put it on the list:p

dgg4 Posted January 22, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 22, 2009 To keep your suitcase closed because you bought too many souveniers? To build some wacky thing for a scavenger hunt or pool contest? To mark your suitcase so it stands out?

packedandready Posted January 22, 2009 #10 Share Posted January 22, 2009 A couple of years ago the volume control for the speaker in the cabin was broken. It would just about blast you out of the room. We covered the speaker with a piece of duct tape and it was fine. Could still hear in case of emergency, but was not left the busted eardrums. Enquiring minds need to know:D 1) hemming pants 2) taping the cord for the surge protector/ multiplug to the floor so we don't trip over it 3) de-rattling the closet door 4) repairing torn suitcase 5) taping decorative lights to the balcony rail 6) holding the world together (“Duct tape is like the force. GophersMN Posted January 23, 2009 #25 Share Posted January 23, 2009 You never know when duct tape could come in handy. Once our deck door had a problem closing completely causing a "whistle" noise. Just slapped a piece of tape over it and no more problem. You could even "go formal" with duct tape......
