Miracle 1/24/09 as it happens...

GOTTA CRUISE NOW

LMAO!!! So it was YOU!!! I should've just "plunked down" beside you!:D

Yep! It was me. Maybe if people would have "plunked down" it would have taken us less time...although I guess it also didn't help that I kept going back to the Chocolate buffet... lol!

who has time to put a puzzle together? I can do that at home. I want to do things I can't do at home on the cruise.

Although on a rainy day at sea... There's not a whole lot to do! Especially the LAST sea day...

The stores were crowded, the pools were closed. The casino was CROWDED. I can only play bingo so much and my brain turns to jelly!

"Fun day at Sea" I

Oh, man! We did a whole lot of NOTHIN'!!! How great is that?

It was overcast most of the day. Decided not to go to the pool because it was still kind of cool. So... I blogged, we ate, played a trivia game in the Phantom Lounge, we ate, we read, we ate, played the slots for a while, went to the Captain's party, ate dinner! Prime Rib!! Mmmmmm.... And (one of my favorites)Pumpkin Soup! By this time we were stuffed and were going to forego dessert... when the cherries jubilee started calling my name...."Missi...Missi...MISSI!!!" So I just HAD to answer! The show was one we'd seen before, so we went and watched a movie on my laptop, then went to bed. I love vacation! Wish you were here, yet?;)

See ya (sort of tomorrow!

Missi

Hmmm. Not to be cantradictory but it was mostly sunny with the occasional puffy cloud coming by making it tolerable by the pool. Or....maybe the ship was so long, you were on the overcast part.:)

What may be "tolerable" for some, may not be for others...

Different thermometers for different folks!

I only know that it was too cool for me. (and many others)

Fair enough, I know I was too hot for most of the day by the pool and needed to get in several times to cool off. At lease on the lido deck by the stage. Maybe it was different on the sun deck or out back behind Horatio's, as it was pretty windy. In our group's opinions the only marginal day was the last day at sea. Too cool to be by the pool, but that was fine. It kind of slowly prepared us for heading home.

I would also add that for us (party of 4) in the evening the two hot spots were Frankie and Johny's with the band not being the best we've seen but good enough to pack the place and the dance floor, and the piano bar. Laurie in the piano bar was the best entertainer nd all around great gal we've seen on a cruise. She was funny, talented, and got people up to sing every now and then, including most of our party. (at least those who wanted to) She was one of the most memorable parts of the whole trip but I think she's only there through this month. :(

The BIG dissapointment was the karaoke lounge. The gal running it didn't dial sound in very well at all, and did way too much singing herself. The first night it started off packed, and from then on it was pretty vacant with a handful of the same people there each night singing many, many times in a single night. Not your typical karaoke lounge on a cruise ship.

To answer a couple of questions I've seen while skimming this thread, yes there are hairdryers in the room, yes you can grab a cab at St Kitts......if you want a beach, try Frigate or Cockleshell. Frigate is more commercialized, but both have a bar and cabbies wating to take you back. Plus, the downtown area itself is very quaint.

I totally agree about "Kay" in the Karaoke lounge... She was NOT a happy camper! I think she hated her job, hated us... I sang a couple of times, and there were some cool people there. But she didn't engage in conversation at all, and she did sing alot. I got the feeling she thought she was better than everyone else. Ummm... Karaoke! We're not supposed to be good! I was thinking that I would LOVE that job!

I could still have found something else to do. reading, playing games, all of that are things I can do at home. when I cruise, i want to relax, and watch the water, watch people. we found plenty to do on rainy days. and believe me in October, that was all but 1 day we were onboard the ship.

Oh well, to each his own.

As for the temperature, the night air can get cool, and if it is rainy, it can get cool. I live in the a warm climate, and we have evenings in the middle of summer that i need a light sweater or wrap.

Hi, sounds like you are having a blast. Have you gone to Frankie & Johnies? What band is there? Is it Music Unlimited and how are they? I will be back in May. My 3rd trip on the Miracle. Thanks for the info. Mary49

Mary - the band was Music Highlights and were quite good. The lounge was always full when they played.

Missy - Thanks for the great review. I love re-living the cruise thru someone else's eyes. I was on the same cruise - was part of the group with tiaras and boas.:)
