Pearl aft cabins

We haven't been in it yet, but will be in this same cabin in April. I'll be sure to post back after that trip to let you know. Last year we had an aft cabin on the Pearl and it was great. We enjoyed watching the wake while we sailed and the hallway was quiet. The only thing I didn't like was being the last to see when we arrived somewhere! I really enjoy watching a sail in and you don't really see that from the back. Of course, it wasn't too difficult to find our way to another deck for a good viewpoint!!

I've got to believe it would be a fabulous cabin for Alaska. We had a regular balcony for Alaska and saw whales often, I've got to believe you would have even more opportunities for sightings from an aft cabin!!

We are on the Sept 5 trip to Alaska 2010,We are in cabin #9674. The first time in aft cabin has anyone been in this cabin and if so what did you like,or dislike about an aft cabin.

I think that is a FANTASTIC :D cabin choice.

While, I wasn't there on the Pearl, I did have that exact cabin on the Gem last year.

What I liked about it:

1-The view, the view, the view (isn't that WHY you pick an aft?).

2-Being aft...you get no wind as you do in the front or on the sides. Even sitting outside in the middle of the night presents no problem.

3-Did I mention the view??

What I disliked about it:

1-About the cabin itself? NOTHING.

2-I don't know why, but it sure seemed like we were involved in a lot of activities that occured in the forward parts of the ship. When you are starting out from aft, that can be a loooooooooooong walk :(

Despite the above...I think it is a perfect choice for Alaska.

Enjoy!

Your gonna love it . Nice sized balcony with great views.

Just dont get used to it or you will become one of the many " I cant cruise without an AFT cabin " group.

Its painful ;)

I had that cabin on the Sept 4 cruise in 2008. I agree with all the good things that have been said. The one thing I didn't like was that you are always looking at where you have been, not where you are going. I know - it's a type A personality thing! :)

We were on the Pearl in 9170, so I can't comment on the specific stateroom you are going to be in, but I do think you will love being Aft. When you are on your Aft balcony, you really do feel like you have the ship all to yourself. Also, you are out of the main traffic aboard the ship. As the other poster said.. LOL... seems like every activity you want to do will be Forward so the walk is a killer.. but that worked out well for us. The further we are from the casino, the better... LOL.

To give you an idea , we have an AB suite booked for March on the Star ( love the suite hate the location) . The problem is they only have that category forward on the side of the ship and I cant stop thinking about Not being AFT. We sail with our 2 youngin's which of course limits cabin selection.

Now if NCL ever wise's up and allows 4 in some of those Aft suites , Man I'll be all over them :D.
