Spectrum Posted January 25, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2009 Has anyone discovered if there are laundromats on Celebrity Solstice? If so, can you remember where they are? We cannot find them on the deckplans.
CathyCruises Posted January 25, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2009 :o No self-service landromats anywhere on =X= ships--cuts into their revenue! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! Cathy

CanWeGoYet? Posted January 26, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2009 Do your clothes come back in good shape? (i.e. not shrunken or faded) I have read some accounts of everything being laundered in hot water.

CathyCruises Posted January 26, 2009 #11 Share Posted January 26, 2009 A. I have sent out many things and they have all come back in great shape--laundered items included. I would not hesitate to send them anything I own. B. They specifically request that you do NOT use the balcony as a laundry facility. I believe all ships except Solstice have clotheslines in the showers.

RealDeal Posted January 26, 2009 #13 Share Posted January 26, 2009 I've been very happy w/X's dry cleaning....and I think their prices are excellent...probably about the same (if not less!) than I would pay here in NJ.
CruisinNewb Posted January 26, 2009 #14 Share Posted January 26, 2009 My clothes shrink during every cruise I take. Texed, Methinks waffles may be involved here! Non indulgence is for when the cruise is over. Ron
dwjoe Posted January 27, 2009 #15 Share Posted January 27, 2009 On my recent cruise on Solstice, they offered a $29 special on Friday for as much laundry (not dry cleaning) as you could fit into one of their laundry bags. Would've been more useful a day or two earlier, but thought I'd mention it.
elena7seas Posted January 27, 2009 #16 Share Posted January 27, 2009 Yes, I had some cotton things that shrunk when laundered--ask for everything to be dry cleaned! Was this on a Celebrity ship? I have cottons laundered on every X cruise and have always been really pleased with both the laundry and the drycleaning services.
Longboysfan Posted January 27, 2009 #17 Share Posted January 27, 2009 Is there a place to string a clothes line on the balcony? Yes. Just bring the hooks and line. The Cabin attendent will also fold and put up more for you.
Buellwinkle Posted February 3, 2009 #18 Share Posted February 3, 2009 Seems pretty cheap to me to have them do it. When I stay at hotels that have washers/dryers, I waste 2 hours dealing with it, pay $5 for the washer/dryer and then $2 or so for soap each for whites and darks. So if they will clean 4 days worth of underwear, socks and it costs me $12, it's worth it, that means I can pack for 4 days instead of 8. The rest I would dryclean at home anyway, worth having it cleaned and pressed when you need it and not have to pack and iron. I have yet to travel anywhere in the world where I couldn't do it with a carry on bag. If cost is an issue, there are probably laundramats near the port.
